plug choice is dependant mostly on what amount of boost you're throwing at the motor.

A 2003 Ford Factory water pump provides good cooling. Don't buy the hype of the 'Cobra R' being better. In short, it is not.

Cool

I recently installed the Denso IT-22's in my L, when I installed my 4 lb. lower.

Great idle, runs perfect at any RPM or speed.

However, Sal told me in an e-mail that the TR-6's will withstand more "abuse" if you run big boost, nitrous, etc.

I'll go out on a limb and say both will probably meet your needs.

JDM will give you good advice I'm sure.

TR6's work just fine and they are available locally for a $1.50 each. I used the denso's in my Supra with great results but all my blown Fords have had TR6's.

Make sure your gap them correctly, add a little anti seize and torque them correctly and you should be good to go.

JUST SAY NO TO ANTI SEIZE UNLESS U HAVE THE EXTRA THREADS, anti seize causes them to wanna blow out more easily...its almost like it lubs thems

Go with the NGKs.In my opinion ,especially for the money the Densos are crapola!I just pulled mine after 1000 miles due tue a miss and found 4 out of 8 with broken ceramics.Keep in mind i was dyno tuned and had a great air fuel. They just didnt take well to my high boost 8lb lower and 2.7 upper.

My NGK BR7EFs(5lb pulley) have been in for over 30,000 miles in my 01 L. I used Lubro Moly's antisieze and ran them down finger-tight plus 1/16th of a turn more. Over-torquing plugs in our 'soft', 4-5 threads, aluminum heads causes more blown plugs than a quality antisieze---with the proper torque/tightening.

Plugs

I used NGK TR6 in the past. They worked well for my needs. I now use Denso and I do not have any problems yet.... You can't go wrong with either brand.
