Finally raced a Lightning and sold my sub box

So I am at the texas car wash by my house , were u can wash your own car, just finishing up drying off my S4 and a white lightning pulls in. I had met the guy before in town and we started to BS. Told him I sold my Lightning and all my parts except my sub box. He was interested so he asked if he could come check it out. He goes through the carwash (no handwash ) . and comes back to me dressing my tires. I finish up and he follows me out. We pull up next to each other at the light and he starts to rev his engine, of coarse I respond with a little rev (mine does not sound as good as his). The light changes and I drop the clutch at around 3500. I immediatly pull away from him and put about 5 to 7 car lengths on him, maybe more. I was very surprised. I do not think he has too much done. I think just a diablo chip, 2 lb, and cat back, and had nitto drag radials.

This is my first real kill and unfortunatly it had to be a lightning. He did say he had no traction and was just spinning, we did just come out of a car wash so I am sure wet drag radials are not the best for traction, I do not have that problem with quattro

As I was 7 cars in front of him I still heard his blower screaming at me with my windows up and radio on low.

Anyway he followed me back to my house and bought my sub box off me. Now I am officially out of Lightning parts, finally have some room in my house!

I consider it a kill, but he either has no clue how to drive the truck, or he let off. 6-7 car lengths? I guess your S4 runs 12s? It must if you beat him _that_ bad.

Man O' Man! It's unbelievable how many guys with Lightnings get their panties in a wad over someone else's Lightning getting beat. I personally don't care, as long as it wasn't mine. I'm pretty confident he wouldn't have beaten me.

Just earlier on this week, I had a guy in a red Lightning seriously come after me. I beat him by 2 truck lengths from a second gear roll, only in that one gear, then the race ended.

Good thing I didn't come on here crowing my kill. I would have been chastised!

Its all in fun, we mean no harm. I think we all are poking fun at him because he use to own a Lightning and he KNOWS he could never outrun one in the S4!

Good story, Halflife. You still have Lightning in your soul and that's a good thing.

We still love ya halflife! S4's are nice rides and if one ever pulled up beside me, it would raise a few hairs down my back, kinda like a cat bristling up! LOL! Congrats on the new ride, but ya might wanna keep it in the garage! Like ya mama use to say,"Dont go outside and play when there's some bad Lightning outside"!

S4 is nice, but BABY BLUE ONES tend to be suspicious.
