Boost gauge position at max vacuum??
Hi Guys,
Working the bugs out of my new "03"..
After 2 new instrument clusters (for illumination and speedo problems) I notice this one the boost gauge at idle or while cruising constant speed at full vacuum is off the scale. The original and previous clusters sat at the minimum(or max vacuum)position mark under these conditions. Anyone else have this problem or know how to correct it. Did the all gauge test.
The gauge does work, goes up in the boost range while accelerating etc.. Maybe I'm beeing too critical....???

At stopped idle, mine sits off the scale. At cruising, it depends how fast. Normal driving, same thing. But if I'm out in the country on the interstate, mine hangs out around the minimum (max vac) mark once I'm running higher than 80 or 90.
Yours sounds pretty normal to me.

haha
mine used to point over at the speedometer at WOT!!!hehe.
The stock guage should be considered either vac or boost. It's not very accurate it all on most trucks. Mine would sit right at the vaccuum mark at idle.........move a tiny bit during cruise/acceleration and go right to boost.
If you are going to change pullies, invest in a decent boost/vaccum guage. You can put it right on the colum and still maintain your stock affect. Good luck!!
