Best kit for lowering?

Just bought my new '04 L. Want to get rid of the 4x4 look, so what is everyone doing about lowering? Just the rear 2", or the kit that drops the front 1" and the rear 2"? Recommendation on where to buy? Thanks for the advice.

The only problem with the 03-04 is the shim they use between the axle and leaf springs, if you put shackles in the rear half the time you need to remove the shims. It will through the pinion anlge off sometimes and creates a poor ride. I would do 2" shackles in the rear and remove the shims and also Eibach lowering springs in the front about a 1 3/4" drop, not quite.

Really nice look and is fairly priced. Both together would be $245 + Shipping. Call us if you need some more info 732-780-0770.

Research Eibach springs first, many have had issues with them.

I really like my Western Chassis Smooth Rider Coils and most here like there Ground Force or Hotchkis kits.

Rousch makes a nice kit also.

I did a 2" Belltech shackle on my '04. I bought them at www.stylinconcepts.com for about $40 (with shipping). I like the results (pic is in sig below). No shim work needed and no vibrations while driving.

This is my 2nd gen2 Lightning and I used the groundforce kits or the FRPP kit as its called on both of them (do a search). I also installed some 01 model leaf springs as the 03/04 trucks are jacked up in the air to much for my liking. The pics are not the greatest but you get the idea. It is very good kit thats fairly nicely priced. Make sure you purchase some cam bolts and get the truck an alignment after the drop.

To me the pics look the same. I don't see much of a drop on your truck

The angles and the color of the truck make it had to see the difference. Here is another pic. keep in mind the truck is pointing down hill but I could literally put my head beetween the wheel well and rear tire before the lowering. I also had to jump up to get in it before. (im 5'8" with short legs)

I lowered my 2002 "the cheap route" about 15K miles ago. I used Eibach front springs and JDM 2 inch shackles. The truck now sits at 17 inches in the front and 18.5 in the rear. From day one, I liked the look of the front with the Eibachs. I felt 17 was a good height. The rear worked good at 18.5 because I pull a boat often. I do like the looks of the rear at 17 inches better.
What I didnt like:
I cant stand the way the front end feels. Feels like Jello with the progressive rate Eibachs. Also, the coils on the springs are almost touching and the bump stops are about 1/4 of an inch from the a-arm even after taking off an inch of the stops.
Maybe the shocks are gone in the front, maybe its the springs.
Last week I ordered the Hotchkis TVS system with TVS shocks to do it the right way. I will let you know what I think of it as soon as I get it all together. I will most likely have the Eibachs for sale afterwords. Just my opinion.

Umm, so should I remove the shims on my truck? I got 2" drop shackles in the back.

Anybody have a url for ordering the Roush set-up? I'll go ahead and ask, even though I can get the answer with the url... but how much did you have to give for it?
