Looks awesome
It is good to see someone powdercoating them to match our trucks. I had to have mine done myself.

Mine looked that good until my exhaust hitting them rubbed and cracked all the nice paint off.

Is it better to do the install on the ground? I have access to a shop with a lift, should I use it? Will the install be set correctly if installed in the air with the suspention dropped?

I cant really see it making a difference, just wanna check first. Thanks.

man, those things look awesome .......question though i too have a sonic L (2004) and would like to get some traction bars....in blue too..lol ......my question is, are they direct bolt on or do you need to drill into the frame or weld at all anywhere. and will it hit my magnaflow exhaust....... ? also, can you post some pictures after you have installed them......that would be awesome....i would greatly appreciate it

Yes you would need to drill 8 holes into your frame, no welding required. And I guess it all depends on the truck. I've only got the 2" shackles set on the 1" hole and It hits my adjustable Bassani every bump in the road. I was very dissapointed. I guess I'll go with another style, I can't see going to another brand who's brackets hang even lower for more clearance. They are already like 3 inches from the ground. It seems like these are a track only application where there are no bumps in the road. They do hook like a mother though, i'll give them that.

Hey bars look great, Ive got the same set on my truck, And yes it does make a diff. where your susp. is set. if you do it on a lift your brackets will be drilled in the wrong place. the susp. has to have the full load on it for proper placement of the front bracket. just put two jackstands on the axel tubes and let the weight come down on them. install your back bracket them put the tube on with the front bracket bolted on, then c clamp the bracket to the frame and drill your holes. do one side at a time and watch you fuel lines that are on the inside of the frame when drilling..

hope this helps

Dale

I got a really nice deal from Mark at LFP. It took two weeks to get the powdercaoting done. Price--- call him- he has special pricing for the custom colors- he can match most colors if you send him a paint sample. I sent him the touch up paint that came with my truck and it match's very well. I just finished the install, here's some pic's..........

here's a pic showing clearance with 2" shackles and a JDM silver bullet

Wow, I don't know what the hell is wrong with my truck. I know the 99's are a little lower in the back then the newer ones, but that much? Mine are like a 1/2" from my exhaust and the pipes are adjusted as far up as possible....

My exhaust sits perfectly in the side skirt. So I think the clearance has a lot to do with the 03 rear leafs being so beefy!!!
