New tune with FTVB?

I should be geting my FTVB tomm. I just need know if I am going to need a tune or will it be fine on a stock truck with just a cat-back and intake? Also when I put on my Moroso pan do I need to drive it after repalcing the fliud or check it cold? Is there anything I need to do to ''prime" the transmission before the truck is started and drivin? Thank you!

no tune needed, actually if you get a tune make sure the tuner knows so they dont raise the line pressure.

I don’t recall how many quarts you need to fill it up. I believe it is around 6 – 8qts but read the instructions with the FTVB and it will give you a good estimate.

Once you install the FTVB and pan fill it up with the recommended amount of fluid (the 6 – 8qts as mentioned above). Start the truck and let it get up to operating temperature, which is approx. 10 minutes or so, maybe sooner.

Once at operating temperature hold the brake and cycle the shifter through all the gears. Stop at each gear and let the transmission engage then shift to the next gear. Also shift into reverse and let it engage and then back to park.

Insure you are on level ground and with the truck still running check the transmission dipstick and see if you need to add some more fluid. If so then add, if not then take it for a drive in the city for a good 15 – 30 minutes and then recheck the fluid by repeating the above (cycling through all the gears including reverse).

After that add fluid if it shows you need some. Look at the “full” hot on the dipstick. Keep a close eye on the fluid level for the next week or so. I would check it after each drive for a week.

The important thing is to NOT overfill the fluid. To much fluid is as bad as not enough and that is the same for motor oil as well…

Absolutely correct to include NOT modifying the shift duration.

Let the FTVB control the line pressure mechanically as designed.
