Hey Dman, nice clean looking L. Mine is red as well and I like the shade of red you used for the calipers. What brand / color did you use if you dont mind me asking? I'd like to do that to my calipers next week.

Thanks,

Joe

Ok i dont know for sure, i have the bottle at home, but im at school so i wont be able to tell u for sure till next week. What i remember was that we got it from Pep Boys and it was like high temp engine paint. and it was the only bright red they had. It matched the color perfectly, i painted the two little holes on the bumper from the licence plate, and they are identical to the truck color. hope that helps a bit.

Nice Pics. I had a red Lightning and I painted my calipers red with high temp paint. They looked real good. I only had to do them once, and they looked great. Here's a few pics of the Lightning.

I have some extra chrome illusion left over from when I painted my stripe. I may just paint my calipers with it, I just don't know how it will hold up to the heat.

I used the kit from Auto Zone. Comes with the deadly cleaner and the high temp paint. I did my front two in about an hour. It was rainy and crappy outside. My paint job has held up just fine under the circumstances. I will post pics later this week as I am in Pheonix right now. Saw a sweet looking red L here today....anyone from here (pheonix, Chandler)

I also have a red truck and painted my calipers to match. PlastiKote's red 900 degree brake enamel is a perfect match, is easy to clean, and holds up well. Got mine at Pep Boys.

I opted to apply some contrast, so for the front units, I painted the calipers red and used a high heat flat white header paint for the back of the brake pads. I also painted the inner ring around the center hub of the rotors as well as the vented portion on the outer edge.

For the rear units, I liked the look of the bright aluminum, so I left the calipers alone. However, I did paint the back of the pads and the parking brake drums red. Looks good.
