slick question

I bought a pair of hoosier slicks and when I went to the track I pulled up to the line and started doing a burnout it spun a little then kept pushing me forward. I didn't even get them smoking they just hook up and push me. And off the line I still spin alot

What gear are you doing your burn out in? I do mine in 2nd and try not to exceed 60mph. then I put it in drive and head for the line.
