I'm not having any problems, i'm just wondering if anybody else has seen something like this. i was under my truck swapping my valvebody, and noticed that the transmission has been painted a dark gray. i have seen 3 other lightning transmissions first hand, but none of them were painted. i suppose that its been rebuilt, but unless it happened within the last 10,000 miles, it should have been replaced by ford. anyways, has anyone else seen anything like this? thanks wes

 

I have seen several Ford Remans roll thru my shop that have been painted a darker grey. That is probably the case. Should have a "Quality Renewal" tag on the top of the bell housing if it is a reman. -Mat-
