Two things of note
Two things of note
I'm on vacation until 3rd January, so I won't be posting much until then, but two things I wanted to comment on.
First, as some of you know, I had a cyst removed from my eye on Friday, it was raterh routine and I'm fine, thanks to the people who sent me e-mails, I appreciate it.
Second, and more important, I'd like to ask anyone who would like to help to send a letter and a disposable camera to a veteran serivng overseas. I came across this quote in a story in the Cincinnati Enquirer this morning and it struck me as a very simple thing to do that would really do a lot for a soldier/sailor/airman/marine/Coast Guard person (what do they call them anyway?).

College not a lark when it's West Point
By Peter Bronson
Enquirer staff writer
(snipped the rest of the article)
It makes me want to show my gratitude during this Christmas season. There are dozens of good organizations that can help.
Thomas Withrow of the American Red Cross at Walter Reed Army Medical Center suggests sending disposable cameras, stamps, phone cards, and "definitely letters'' and Christmas cards, addressed "To Any Wounded Soldier.''
"Put on your address so they can write you back,'' he said. "There are lots'' of soldiers at Walter Reed being shipped back from Iraq, he said.
Send to:
American Red Cross
Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Ave. NW
Heaton Pavilion, 3rd Floor, Room 3E05
Washington, DC 20307
As a former veteran I would have really appreated something like this, and I encourage you to consider it. A pack of 5 disposable cameras was $25 today at Sam's Club.
Thanks,
G
