Metco traction bars

Have a couple of questions about the metcos:
Do they hurt the ride?
Do they hurt handling (cornering)?
Looking to stop hop and nut hurt ride or handling.
Thanks,Skip

Perfect choice. You won't even know they're there, until you launch hard. I love mine. I had the Truck-Traks before and liked them, too.

I have to agree with Odin's Wrath 110%. I have mine for over 2 years and they are very good in keeping my tires planted to the pavement when I launch.

If I were drag racing every weekend with a built block, and chasing the 10 second club, 58" bars would probably be under my truck; but, for a daily driver that see's the track once or twice a year, if that, the Metcos can't be beat. They hold their own at the track, too. There are guys out there putting down great times with them.

"Needless to say?"

That expression means that the statement necessarily follows from the premises.

What are your premises?

I go to the track twice a year and run JLP Lift bars.

I had slappers under there and didn't like them at all. They worked well for going in a straight line.
However when you take a corner under hard acceleration and they slap your leaf springs? Oh NO. That ***** has to go!

With slapper bars if you make a left hand turn across a 5 lane street that has indentations where the car tires run and you go perpendicular to them, you will HATE your slappers.

With the Lift bars, I don't have to worry about the slappers hitting and literally throwing the rear end out.

The ride with Lift bars is MUCH better and feels more solid.

I used cheap lakewoods and they worked as I stated, however only in a straight line.

JLP bars I can drift the truck if I want and do it with confidence.

Oh.. one last thing.

I think with the Metco's you have to also get the anti-rattle kit.

I think the metco's are the ones that rattle.

Perhaps, someone would be so kind as to inform us if this is correct.

(like I have to ask) :-)

Metco's Don't rattle. Actually the long bars are the ones I have heard about wacking the exhaust. I have also seen the the long bars bend.

Metco is about as close as you can get to a four link without going all the way.

The truth is that you will never know the Metco's are even there. No noice whatsoever and no change to the ride at all. They are a little harder to install but you really cant beat them.

With the metco's, you can also make adjustments, with the simple turn of a wrench, to help compensate for the truck lifting on one corner during the launch.
