SES: p0171 code

the service engine soon light went on and the code is p0717. i know it means the truck is running too lean. i just installed CAI and exhaust, but the code went on before the exhaust went on and after the CAI went on. i noticed the hose that goes to the intake elbow on the right side was not connected, so i connected it, but i still have the code. do i need to reset anything? or was that simply not the problem. after i put in my exhaust i also noticed a funny sound that almost sounds like a leak or something. you cant hear it in park or neutral, only when driving and the fast and harder u go the sound goes faster and harder. thanks.

Did you disconnect the battery to reset the code? Chances are that the vacuum line that was not connected was the problem

i had the exact thing happen to me, the code wouldnt go away for over a month. Then finally after looking for a few minutes i found a vacuum line from the intake boot was completely disconnecte. I connected it disconnected the battery for a few minutes and no more SES light!!!

yeah it was probably the same line. mine must have come off accidently when i installed my CAI. i just disconnected the battery and the SES light is gone. that out of the way, i still have a hesitation over 35 mph at very light throttle where the driver has to hit the gas almost half way for the truck to actually move. ERG?

yeah the idle seems ok... driving under 35 mph is fine too... just higher speeds at part throttle
