I have had both and its a toss up really.

However -

I prefer dynatechs due to the collecter to mid pipe gasket design and there a tad easier to install on the passenger side, other then that there very similar and both offer a great sound and some performance gains.

Dynatech for better gaskets, better deal, and you don't have to buy them from one vendor; you have a choice

I have the Kooks, and have always heard the Dynatechs were the easier install. I have no complaints with my Kooks, but others have complained about the Gaskets, I DID NOT use the ones that came with because of what I read.

Chris "SuperFords" had a lot of good install info/ tips, tools etc. W/pics on his website, also leave yourself Extra time to walk away some of us need it

Do some search's and read up It was a HUGE help for me, you may not know what they mean at first, but when your doin the install it will make sense.

Worth while mod
Good luck

kooks

kooks here. I've installed 3 sets and they are tit. I have nothing to say about the dynatechs. The kooks are 400 grade stainless. Not sure about the dynatech stuff.

Prices are about the same. I got my headers on the group buy I set up with JDM. The dynatech guys weren't interested untill i had already set something up with Jim.

Either way, they are both proven so i guess whoever you can get the best deal from.

You'll love them either way.

well

Nice. Clear as mud.
Have to Tell you on this one Tim, it's actually legit. At least we can say that people have tested these mods for gains, quality of build, material of build, sound and what not.

Alot easier to form opinions based off facts than........this wax is the best because my truck is shiny.........or this oil is the best because it contains less discoloration then the others i've changed at 3k miles.

I agree completely. Headers are a much more interesting subject than wax or oil. And I meant no disrespect to the posters. It's just that there seems to be no clear "best" anything for these trucks. And my dumb *ss looks each time, vainly hoping that someone has come up with the definitive answer.

I guess that just the "downside" to competition. If I were a glass-half-full kind of guy, I suppose I would praise the cornucopia of excellent choices that we have.

On that note,

Happy T'Day to all!

The only complaint I have with the kooks are the gaskets. My collector gaskets blew out on the dyno a couple days after having the headers installed.

flip a coin.I think they are both about the same if you are driving on the street. You will not feel 3-5 hp differenceif there is even that much.I run the JDM/Kooks but I have modified them for my app so i can not even say.If you look at it my way there are 3 out there now,Dynatech,JDM/Kooks,Ruslow version of JDM/Kooks!take however you want! But really there is no diff.if you look at max hp numbers, but look at across the board numbers too.Stan
