Looking to buy Lightning, have a few questions....

Hi everyone,

Im looking at buying a 2001 Lightning thats for sale here at a dealership, it has 13,000 mi on it and its red. I had a few questions though, i dont have alot of money for mods, but yet i want something with decent power out of the box. Will i get that with this lightning, i know i need to test drive it though. Also, i have been looking at the 2001 and up Mustang GTs, how will these compare to the lightnings in the power dept? I do like the idea of a truck and love how the lightnings look, but the power is really what its all about. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

It won't seem faster, it is faster. By a good deal.

A gen 2 is decevingly fast IMO. It's no where near as dramatic as a stang GT w/5 speed. But they really are indeed quick.

A "chip, filter, and pulley" have put many lightnings in the the low 13s-to-high 12s.

BTW: I've seen Chainsaw13s truck and will vouch that's it's in top notch shape. Definately check it out.

Let's just say that my friend has an '03 GT and he won't race me

Add on top of the fact that a L is faster than a stock GT...if you put in about $1000 you can be in the 12's...
