Is Boost Creep normal in Lightnings?

at NLOC too

Just got my gauges in on Saturday (THANKS Jason and JJ!!) and have noticed a peculiar trend:

1st off mods:
4# lower
FTVB
K&N in stock box (hole in stock box)
Sal tuned PCM flash

When I floor it I see around 10 pounds, then when it hits 3rd it gets to 12 pounds, and then it creep slowly to 14 pounds where it stays until I let off the gas. Is this normal? I assumed a 4# lower would= 12 pounds. Should I check my wastegate? I'd like to have 12 at full throttle throughout the rpm range, rather than 10 for a while and then 12, then 13, then 14...

Stock filter choking until it reaches higher speed? I can't figure it out.

Thanks gang.

Mine does that. 4# and other mods, but it jumps over 10 right off the bat, then as the rpms go up, so does the boost. Once it gets to the top, it stays there and doesn't move.

THANKS gang..

So can I assume a 6# lower would start at 14 and creep to 16-17 at WOT? I'd like 14 at all times, but not sure I want to see it get higher than that on 93 octane.

Didn't mean to confuse you guys. I use to term "wastegate" to mean any device that regulates the boost. Are you guys telling me the solenoid won't bleed off excess pressure?
That's scary if true.. but good to know.
Thanks.

The boost bypass does not "regulate" boost -- it's a full boost or no boost proposition. The computer tells the valve to eliminate boost, not regulate it.

Do a search for "boost bypass" or "boost dump" for everything that you ever wanted to know on the subject.
