Supposed to race an SRT10 soon...

...he's bone stock, supposedly ran an 8.4 in the 1/8th on a day that some of my other friends ran their best times. Anyway I dyno at 400rwhp/523rwtq on 20's and ran an 8.4 on street tires in the 1/8th. My mods are 6lb pulley, jlp chip, jlp cai, e-fans, borlan muffler and 20's. What do you guys think the outcome will be???

he'll miss 3rd gear or burn out the clutch plates or destroy the plastic slave sleeve in the clutch

It'll be close.

I love the idea of a N/A engine (10 cylinder or not) putting out 500hp and a factory warranty.

Perhaps Ford can learn a thing or two about interiors, by looking at the SRT-10. Very very nice Interior.

(front end is a little too tall though for me)

I've never ran the 1/4 in the L yet, we'll be running on the street from maybe a 20 roll or so. I'm sure we'll do a few rolls, stop, 20, 60 etc.

practice launching at the track a few times. If you hammer it off the line, odds are you'll spin the tires and lose the race

I've raced it in the 1/8 so I've gotten the launch down pretty well, being on 20's makes it easier to launch without wheel spin as well.

If you still have your 18" wheels put them on for some added cushion! I would think it should take some time off.

Just the opposite.

Less sidewall= Less traction.

That is why guys go down to a 15 inch wheel and a huge sidewall for racing.

Yes that's true however a 20in wheel is heavier and has a taller diameter thus making it more difficult to spin. A friend of mine has the exact same mods minus the borla muffler and he's on 18's; anything under 30 on his and it blows the tires off. Mine won't spin them unless your sitting at a stop or maybe under 10mph if your lucky. His dyno #'s were 412/516 on 18's and mine 400/523 on 20's.

I'm stock with a Borla cat-back and modded stock air box with K&N and spin my tires at 20 mph.

I think you should take the SRT, keep us posted.

First in most cases the after market 20s are lightner than our stock 18s. Second, this should be a no race if you don't run him at a 60 roll. BTW your numbers look low to me for having a 6 lb pulley...........................just my 2cents.........have fun, WIN.

any 20" chrome rim should be heavier then an alloy 18"...my aftermarket 20's are way heavier then the 18's... i also dyno'd with a 6# lower and my 20's on and made 400/503.

I don't see why my numbers are low with the 20's sucking up a little power. I'll ave to put some 18's on the next time I dyno. Also my rims aren't chrome they are black with a polished lip, still noticeably heavier than the factory rims. So your saying I should go from a 60 roll or not go from a 60 roll?? I would have thought that would give him the advante since his is a manual and all.
