Hows leg room?

Hello,

My wife and I want to purchase a truck in the next few months, and the Lightning quickly caught my eye(I think it does everything quickly). BUT I'm 6'4" and I'm worried about leg room, head room I figure has got to be pretty good, but I'm not so sure about the leg area.(i'm used to a Honda Civic and a Chevy Cavalier, so i'm not looking for gobs of room or anything, but I'd like to go in the bigger direction rather than staying where I'm at)

So are there any tall guys here?

Thanks in advance.

Its a truck, lol, i dont know how u can get more leg room than that. Im 6'1 and i sit just fine. I know not 6'4. thats a big difference, but best way i guess is to go test drive one somewhere and see how u like it. Im sure u wont have any leg problems. And yes, head room is plenty!

I'm 6'6 6'7 and I love the room of my L my knews are kinda close, but I'm sure you're use to driving with your legs kinda spread. I fit just fine, and it is a world bigger than my 2002 Explorer.

Dman25,

hahaha, my fear stems from an encounter w/ a friends Toyota something or another, that thing had NO leg room. Yeah going out for a test drive would be the best solution. Interior room should be the same w/ all the reg cab F150's right? I have a friend who has a v6 one, guess i should ask to drive it.

Your friends Toyota something or another??? lol, u dont know what it was? Anyways, if it was a Tacoma, those things are too small in my tastes.

I think if u get in another Reg. F-150, it will be basically the same on the inside, the L's do have a 6 way power seat so i mean it might make a lil difference but not much.

I'm 6' 4" and find the Lightning perfectly adequate in terms of leg room. The true test is the fact that I never use the tilt feature on the steering wheel. I can get in and out just fine with it in the normal driving position. I do wish that it had just a bit more storage behind the seat, but having put over 130K miles on a 1999 Supercab (the one with the small rear doors), I would never trade structural ridigity in the standard cab for the flex of the Supercab. I'd buy a Crew cab, but never again on the Supercab. You can get a good idea just by closing the doors. The Supercab doors do not have enough support. They have actually worked without a problem other than some minor paint chipping on the roof where it meets the upper front corner of the door. I find that lack of structural rigidity sufficiently annoying that I would not buy another Supercab.

But, here's the big problem: The Lightning is so darn much fun to drive that I'll forgive it any of the space and size sortcomings. To dirve a Lightning is to buy a Lightning. If you need more space, don't test drive the Lightning.

I'm 6' and 250#s and I actully have the seat moved up quite a bit. I like having my knees close to the dash..I'm strange I guess. Actually after years of Fbodys the L seems like a streched limo!!

Don't worry about the leg room, 6'5" and have never had a problem with leg room, it is comfy enough with room you can drive with your legs! Don't expect to carry anything with you however, unless it is in the bed. You won't fit a notebook behind the seat. But you shouldn't carry anything loose anyway, because it's going to be flying around the cab when you hit the gas!

I'm 6'6 and with the seat all the way back I can stretch my legs all the way out during long trips.

I'm 7'4 and find it a tad cramped, but not too bad. Of course, I had to leave a T-Top out of my Z28 to even drive before, and the taste of lovebugs at 80mph is no delicassy. I think you will be fine in the Lightning.

Sincerely,
Yao Ming

I'm 6'8" and I fit just fine. I can't stretch my legs completely out, but there isn't a vehicle that I can. I drove a Toyota T-100 for over ten years and the Lightning is much roomier... A hell of a lot more fun too! I wish I could lower the tilt wheel a little bit, but then my right knee hits when getting out. I drove a friends L before purchasing mine, if you do... you're hooked!
