Autometer Electric Boost Guage?

Anybody using one? This is the one with the warning light, and highest boost recall.

I just got one, and it is ready a good 10 pounds higher than my old mechanical guage and the recall doesn't seem to work. Am I missing something?

I asume you have this guage

Maybee you don't have it hooked up right. It is very important to hook the power wire up to a circuit that turns on with the key but doesn't turn off while the starter is cranking.
This is where you have to hook it up.

Also where did you put the Map sensor?? This is where I installed mine

If you have it hooked up right when you turn the key to the on position it should zero itself out, if it isn't doing that you have it hooked up wrong, and it won't work right.

Let me know how it goes, and if you need I will answer any other questions

Mine's setup just like yours excent I am not sure about the power to it. I know it is a key on power, but not sure about the power during the starting circuit.

Lowest vacuum I read is 10; I was seeing about 25 and more boost. Before I was seeing lower than 20 vacuum and 17~18 boost. It's like it was not calibrated right.

Let me know how you make out

Like I said before, the guage has to reset itself each time you start the truck. If you don't have the power wire hooked up to the right circuit it will never reset and won't read properlly.

Are you getting a 0 reading when the ignition is turned on (not yet started, just turned on)?

Also, if you turn the key to "start" too quickly, it will not have time to zero out and you will get false readings. Wait a second or two before you go from "on" to "start."

Ok, Got another question about this guage; how do you reset the "Peak boost"?

If I remember correctlly
With the key on the on position but the truck not running. Hold the peek button in till it resets itself and then hold it down till it reaches the number you want.

I will go out and play with it later to make sure, I just haven't changed my peek boost in a while, so I forget

Don; that would be what you would do for the "warning" Isn't is supposed to record peak boost? Back when mine was wired wrong it read 22 pounds which wasn't right. But, when I hit the peak button it is always at that.
