Question About Truck Dying.

On the way home today I slightly/moderately stepped on it from about 5mph, it was wet, when it shifted into second it stumbled like I hit the boost dump, but then it plain old died. I was still coasting so I put it in Neutral and tried to start it, but it acted like the battery was low. On the third try it fired up and seemed to run normal. No SES light or anything.

I'm guessing that I bumped the rev limiter, but never has it completely stalled.

BTW fuel filter replaced 1200 miles ago and had filled up at the usual Chevron that morning. It also had been raining hard earlier while I was on the interstate. Could it be water getting in somewhere. No mods except for those listed.

Should still be under warranty, with no mods I would tow it to Ford for free (Ford pays for towing ) and let them fix it, in the meantime you should get a free rent a car from SVT, my 02's.

Uh thanks for the advice, but like I said it did fire up and seem to run fine. It's probably nothing.

When they hit the rev. limiter they do stumble all over themselves but mine has never died.

Mine did do exactly what yours did one time right after I washed the engine. I took it out punched it a little and it stumbled and died. It's never done it since.

BTW: Lightning and rain dont mix well at all!

I bet you just hit your limiter spinning.

Thanks for the reply. I drove it today, hard a couple of times and everything seems fine. I'll just chalk it up to one of those things.

Thanks nevertheless.

Stock 2000, no mods except K&N, died at a stoplight on the way home from work. It started, but died again about a mile down the road, however this time it started back up on it's own. A couple of miles later it died again and restarted itself?? All normal driving conditions. Only thing I did was top off the tank and I mean FULL! Found a sale on gas. Don't see how that could cause what I experienced? Ideas?
