how quite is it inside your cab?

i drove a fellow Lightning owners truck today to grab lunch... anyway, this was the first time i had ever driven any other L besides mine....

anyway, i noticed right away that it seemed so quite inside his....you had to actually try and hear the engine... of course you could hear the exhaust, but his engine seemed so quite....

is that normal? mine seems pretty noisy... i have an LFP idler that makes a little rattle noise and can hear it spinning... but just overall i think mine is alot louder.... im gonna park next to his later and compare, but was just curious....

could it be cuz he has a steel hood and mine is fiberglass? would that cause mine to seem louder?

This question is just a little too subjective. We'd have to hear it our selves to really make an objective judgement.

It could be anything from a bad motor mount to a loose exhaust. And most likely it's a combination of everything!

I agree with Clonetek. The sad thing is even a spell check would not have corrected it. When you are reading and writing quickly it is easy to spell incorrectly.

I have a 2003. I have a good friend with a 2000. The 2000 is markedly quieter in the cab. There is less road noise, engine noise and exhaust noise. I am convinced that there has to be a difference in the insulation between the early and later trucks.
