first "big league" kill

Nice kill. Some of those bimm owners need a good spankin.
I had an asshat in a 330xi try to fart around with me today. It was raining, lots of traffic, and I had my 6 month old son in the truck. I looked over at my boy, and proceeded to explain to the little guy that some people need a thumpin, but not today. He looked at me and crapped his diaper. Then he was happy. It was a good day.

can't help jumping in here as an owner of both an 02 L with 4#, p&p s/c, chip , running 13.3s ( I love this truck!) and pass up few chances to blow most anyone I want into the weeds, and an o3 M3 vert. basically stock except for wheels and dinan "chip" . Just two different rides. Even tho the M3 will run mid 13s I almost never try to run at the light. It's hard to explain, but thats not the way the car is wired. while my L is a high torque beast, ready to spring for lunch, the M is a 3.2 liter in line naturally aspirited 6. at about 345 hp., with a very fat torque band to 8500 rpm that just loves to meet some one in third at 60 or 80 or 100 mph heading into a corner. The coups are about 400#! lighter and run low 13s , but they still just arent as much fun as my L at the light or strip. The M5 you raced by the way is about 400 HP and rated at 13.3 stock, so you had a great kill. When I have my L hat on I love blowing away the krauts too. When the 05 M5s arrive next fall, it will be more difficult tho, 507 hp@ 8700rpm V10, 60 in 4.4 and high 12's, est. 208 mph with speed limiter removed. Oh, and about 3 times the price of my L, but performance wise actually a bargin. Sorry for the long post, too many Coronas I guess. I guess my points being kudos to a good big league kill, it brings a smile to my face and that how cool it is that different manufactures can bring such different driving experiences to motorheads like us.
Yep! but I'll bet you don't have the service bill that you have with the BMW ! I work at a beemership their are in too much but, will admit mostly electical problems. but are callbacks on some ring problems recalls too. I like the 645 for stylle,Z8 for race M-s are quick and good manuvering cars. But the L wins hands down. As far as the new M I think it will OK but, won't be that quick muck like the 840s,850's with the 12 cylinder and eight's. They are a car that lasts though ! sorry long post.
actually the m3s are all having their con rod bearings replaced, under warrantee, and bmw is extending the engine warrantee to 100K miles. All service and parts from oil changes to brake pads and windshield wipers are covered for the first 50K. Ford did replace my head for a blown plug, but they they wait for failure first, then make you jump thru hoops. But i'll still never part with my L. Like I said before, two very different experiences, hard to make comparisons.

I was on my way back from an unveiling for the new Ford GT at a local dealership around 10 PM tonight and ran into a near new M5. The guy was was weaving in and out of traffic in a big *** hurry. Thanks to a red light and an open lane I caught up to the guy. I figured he was driving like an idiot and could use a good whoopin. I catch him, itching to pull the trigger, and the guy won't do a damn thing! At this point, admittedly, I'm trying to get a rise out of him... standing on it, crackin' the boost, etc... nothing. We wind through town a little further and the single lane opens to two and sure enough, the chump pulls a bratwurst fly-by on me ( like a ricer fly-by, but an even bigger weiner
). No way in hell was I going to take that. Thanks to another red light and no traffic, we squared off... 1/2 truck length out of the hole, then 1, then another... third gear and I can see the Bimmer's headlights fading slowly back, losing ground... the dude's glaring scowl more visible than the headlights. I ease of the gas and flash him a condescending grin as he goes by...pissed as hell.
( Just had to throw the devils in there because I know that's exactly how I looked!)
