Question How many of you had an ext cab before the L?

Just curious how many of you L owners had an extended cab before you bought your L. Do you ever miss having the extra seating, or do you like it better?

I went from a s-10 blazer to an extended cab dakota. Actually I had 3 of them then I got the L.

Never looked back can't say that I miss the room there was only junk that I didn't need back there and with the way I drive the L the stuff would have been thrown around and lost under teh seat anyhow.

The power is well worth the missing seat...

Before I bought the Lightning, I swore that I would never again have a regular cab.

After getting again used to having a truck with no place to store anything (!), it's no big deal. Go for it.

I had an extended cab before I bought the L.

Then I married into another one.

Sold mine, now I have the L. My wife drives her extended cab Lariet. When we need more room, we just take her truck.

The extended cab just stored junk. The L is a big upgrade. Just put on a paint matched camper top like Vinnie if you need the extra room.

The couple of times I ever put people back there is not nearly worth not owning one now (single, no kids talking here). It was only ever filled with junk anyway.

People always ask why I bought a vehcile with only two seats. The reality of it is that there's always room for me, and I don't care about anyone else. If I wanted a people-mover, I would have bought a Tahoe or Expedition.

I had the 00 HD version before the L. I catch hell every day of my life from the spousal unit for getting rid of those extra seats. Though the kids can tuck nicely away under the ARE tonneau while basking in the plushness of the Bed Rug, I do have regrets of my own. If I could do it over again, I'd just put a blower on it. IMO, stock for stock, the original HD (ext cab, flare-side versus crew cab) is the best looking thing out there.

I also used to use an F-150 Lariat SuperCab for everyday driving & thought that I'd miss the extra room, but like everyone else has said, the extra seats just collected junk that shouldn't have been in the truck anyway. I don't miss it, love the L.

I had an ext. cab before my lightning & I have not ever missed it. I basically just threw junk back there and I had to clean it up later. If your debating it.....just get the Lightning and you won't ever look back. If you think about the extra room while in the Lightning, just mash the gas pedal to the floor and you will forget about it soon.....lol

Cool

I guess I am the odd man out here.

I had a 98 Scab and liked the extra room.

Traded it for a Supercrew and really enjoyed having the room and ability to take folks with me.

Don't know what "junk" everyone put in theirs ? I typically used it to haul my son's friends around, as well as a few of my own.

Bought the Lightning and although I would like more room, I am addicted to this truck.

I still get wood when I look at her after she's had a bath !!

Before my 01 L, I had bought a used 1997 F150 XLT with the 4.6L. It's been a wonderful truck and I still have it/pic but it's my fishing truck now.
