Will an 03-04 computer fit in an 00??
My Lightning was just diagnosed with a faulty computer. As a replacement, I was wondering if I can use the newer 03-04 computers to replace it. I remember reading that MM&FF did this on their Fridge Lightning using an 01 computer in an 00.
I have the 90mm MAF, 3.73 gears and I know that the PATS would have to be re-programmed.
Are there any benefits to doing this? Any issues and is the newer computer an improvement over previous versions?
Thanks in advance

Yep, you can do it. Since you have the 90mm and 3.73s, you could even slap it in there with no chip. With the 4 bank tuning software, there's really no "benefit" of using it if you plan to have a tune done, but the truck will have more power with it stock since the 01-ups run the motor much leaner stock.

Obviously spoken from experience. Do the two computers run the same amont of timing? Once I solve this issue, my next step is to get the tune. Is there a difference between a 4 bank chip and a hand held programmer? (at least from a computer operating standpoint)
