Chiken1 drives(not trailers) from Alabama and is now the 'second fastest Gen 2 L'
Congrats again James I already told you but that made my day! 10.28@131!! I said early that morning that if he could get the traction he could put down a 10.20 and he sure did!
He drove both ways and the truck weighed in around 4500lbs with driver. That must have been one hell of a ride. James knew what he wanted to do when he came here and he did just that and more! This is a great mark for a JDM daily driver truck!

A BIG THANKS TO JIM AND THE JDM CREW!! I really feel at home everytime I make the almost 1k mi trip to visit!!!
As far as the times go, all I got to say is, I'm happy FOR NOW!!!
The sad part is that the nitrous fuse blew just before the 1000ft marker and the truck nosed over, not to mention that bottle pressure was a less than desireable 850-900psi.Anyway, enough of the shoulda, coulda, woulda...I think we're just a few months away from having a 9 second DAILY DRIVEN, FULL WEIGHT ( by the way the sway bar has NEVER even been off the truck ) LIGHTNING, and I ( nor JDM, sorry crew ) won't rest until we do!!!
A big thanks to JLP for getting me the spot on short notice!!!
Now time for a new sig!!!
James ( CHIKIN )
Awesome! I don't have a 10 sec truck, but your truck is aprime example of why I bought a Lightning. I can't think of another car or truck you can get the performance we can get and still be truly daily driven. Maybe 03+ cobra's or zo6's. I love rolling up on a completely obnoxious sounding car and walking away from them like it's cool.
Great run, and I am glad I came down from Connecticut to see it. Worth the drive.
I want to thank Ssotn and Johnny Lightning for the great entertaining race day.
In the last two weeks at Cecil and JDM day at Englishtown I have seen some incredible examples of outstanding Lightning trucks. Many in the tens, and most driven on the street. It is a stunning achievement to all that realize the physics involved.
Way to go JLP and JDM for backing up all the hype.
(Lets have more wide open formats, heads up, grudge races etc. This is way more fun and entertaining to watch than brackets)
See you all at the track next season,
Jim

The reason I say this is....a couple years ago at JDM day...I was banging out 13.0's all day. Thats all the truck ever did. 13.0. Good 60, bad 60, it didn't matter. Jim Sr looked at my slip, and told me it would run a 12.70 if I launched better. The VERY NEXT run....I hooked well, and ran a 12.71... and from that day on, my truck has stacked up dozens of 12.7's! Sorry for my rambling....
and oh ya....
James....THAT RULES!!!!!!!!!!!! You have got to be the happiest Lightning owner in the world! Congrats bud, and keep chargin' at those single digits!

quote:I got to see that run. It was awesome. I blinked twice when I saw 10.2.
He ran that at 5,000 lbs. JL needs to be worried, 9.99 weighing 4,100 lbs.
Chikin1 may have to put his truck on a weight loss program and take away the #1 spot from good ole JL.
Way to go James and JDM...
My hats off to james and i personally shook his hand to say congrats! He accomplished something great. so lets not take this to a different level..Trust me 04 i'm not worried at all...JL
