Yes, use anti- seize on the bolts.

Ford doesn't use anti seize on the bolts.

Consider yourself lucky if you didn't wipe out the threads on the intake when you took it apart for the first time.

I had to install helicoils on a couple of mine when I took it apart the first time, cause most of the threads from the intake manifold stuck to the bolts (thanks Ford)

I only had problems with one bolt, (SC drivers side rear). It was a bear; it took me one and a half days to pull it out. I’m going to inspect the bolt it looked like it had fillings on several threads, maybe it wiped out the treads.

Thanks for the heads up Patrick_PDX!

I had the same problem 3rd bolt back on the passenger side. Had to re-tap the threads. I was told NOT to use never-seize, as it would throw off the torque readings.

So I didn't, (Used a drop of motor oil) but kind of wish I had. Will use Never-Seize next time..............I think

After inspecting the old bolts, one is covered (about half the thread length) with aluminum (The one I had problems with). I suspect that half the treads are gone….. Now, I have to decide to go ahead and install the new bolt with the damaged threads, or re-tap the hole…. Or drill it out, and install a heli coil??? Sh*t…………

Fast Gator, I have also heard that by using “Never-Seize” that the torque would be off…. That is why I was asking! I guess I will use it like you say…. Thanks.
