I'm being Tempted by the seed of another

Hey Guys, I'm having a hard time deciding what to do. This weekend I came across a sweet never titled 04 mystic cobra vert. I've already found out that most of my performance on my truck will fit on and work with this cobra, and I think I can get a good deal selling private, or on trade in. I love my truck, but theres just something about this cobra thats calling me to it. The only way I can get it is if I sell the truck, and also pull the plug on my mustang project, sell all the parts, and junk the frame of it. Now my loan payment would more than likely go up, as well as my insurance, but I wont have to deal with splitting mod money between 2 cars so I think it will even out. The Cobra has 4k demo miles on it, and has been sitting on the dealer lot since June/July. Whats a good price to offer on it ?? I dont know what I'm goin to do, its a really hard decision. What would you guys do in this position ?? Am I crazy for even thinkin about doing this ?

If you feel like you want to, go get it! You can always buy another L sometime down the road if you want to.

your insurance will be significantly higher. I just priced an '04 Cobra vert and it is $170/6mo. more than my '04L. The mystic color will drive that difference up even more b/c it's _so_ costly to match in case of an accident.

In fact, the '04 Cobra vert is $130/6mo more than my '02 Z06. I cannot figure that out.

These differences weren't enough to keep me from getting one, but this is just info for you.

yeah I know they some things are gonna go up, but I also know a couple things will go down. I wont have to insure 2 different cars, I wont have to split money between the 2, and I will get slightly better gas miledge. I spend about 60 a week on gas right now with the trucks 22gallon tank. Its these things that are really making me consider it. My truck has been awesome to me and I love it, but these lil things and the fact that all the same mods on my truck on a cobra and I'm over a second faster just has it callin me....

Keep your truck!!!!
Believe me, no matter how inviting it may seem, you won't be happy if you let the Lightning go.
I got rid of my 01 Lightning early last Spring and bought a new 03 Sonic Blue Cobra. My truck was running 12.30's to 12.50's.
I was able to get the Cobra into the 11.60's with just a 4 pound lower and a good tune. I kept the Cobra less than 18 months before I grew tired of it and sold it..
I have been looking at an 04 Lightning that my dealer has in his show room right now. The only thing that stopped me from taking it home this weekend is the fact that I just bought a new Supercrew 4 x 4 as a daily driver last month and have not figured out how to explain to my darling wife why I NEED two new trucks in the garage.
I ended up buying her a new Jaguar when I bought the Cobra, and God knows what the Lightning will cost me....
Keep your Lightning!!!! I sure wish I had !!!!!!!!!
Marc

Josh I got to agree with Marc, I had a Cobra Convert and Loved it, and I do miss it, ESPECIALLY THOSE 7500 RPM SHIFT, WOO HOO................
BUT
As Marc did, I also got tiried of it after a mere 18 months to 2 yrs,
and bailed out on it. There is just something about the Lightning,
THAT CAN NOT BE DUPLICATED IN ANYTHING ELSE

AMOF
I wanted that Exact Cobra you are talking about, and checked into pre ordering it before they were released (lots of post on it)
it WAS going to cost me @ 50K
(Boy am I glad I didn't do it, if they are still sitting on lots)
They are awesome, but I felt the interior was too tight.

However I had a Non S/C one,
AND I DO STILL WANT ANOTHER ONE,
Maybe someday I can get one as the Family car

I do have to add though..... lately.... ive been looking for a wrecked Lightning or one with a blown motor which I can rebuild. There was always just something about my Lightning that I loved, and ever since I wrecked it, I always wanted another. One day.... just one day.... I will bring that True Blue L back to life!

I went Cobra shoping today. Found a Yellow 03 with 6K miles goin for $24K and a red 01 with 26K miles goin for $18,5.

Oh, it is so tempting to sell the L and get a Cobra. Threads like this don't help.

the cobra is a fantastic car, however the 05 stangs are out and look better (my opinion)

the new cobra's will be coming, maybe they will have a little more leg room. out here in california they have lots of cobras on the lot still.

man do I feel ya.. I love the L...very much indeed but i had two stangs befor the L, one bulilt pretty good too. I just miss banging gears. I sometimes think about gettiing an 03/04....if only I could afford both. I know though, I really love the L too....I'm just happy to even have the L so I really can't complain.
