I have a dsg and would get it in black, because I am getting stripes put on the hood, the top and down the tailgate, in black metallic. Opinions? This is 1/2 inch pinstriping btw.

If you're already getting stripes put on, these are a little overboard to add.

They COULD be used tastefully on solid colered cars, IMO.

.......all on how much used and where.

Usually, if you're asking the question, you already know the answer.

I like the idea, but I wouldn't use 'off-the-shelf' graphics for something like that. When anyone can get them at Autozone, it sort-of cheapens the effect.

Now maybe some airbrush, or a high quality custom vinyl graphic might be a different story.

The stripes, (two stripes about 10-12 inches wide up the hood, across the top, and down the tailgate) are gonna be cleared in and wetsanded so you can't feel a paint ridge. I was afraid the lightning pin striping would be uncle bens, but had to ask everyones opinion. Thanks for the honesty guys.

I would say those would look good if you did them like a HD truck. Have a black stripe down the side, then it turns into the lightning bolts on the back of the bed, like the HD turns into flames. But I think it would be a bit much with the over truck stripes. Also, if you did them I'd do a black stripe and lightning bolt, with silver pin stripe on the outside. I'd also not use those transfers and just have it custom done.

like Sal said, the HD stripe/flame doesn't look too bad on a DSG "L"

I think you could use that for details under the hood...
but for the exterior, if it wasn't expensive I'd like to see what it looked like
