Blue L Crash in Corinth Texas

If the guy that drives a blue L in Corinth Texas is on here I feel your pain man. I saw that crash on Swisher the other day and a teardrop rolled down my face. I hope that everyone is ok and that your truck gets back up and running man. We need more Ls running around here.

I can't help you out with pictures, because I don't have any. But I can give you some more details. I was turning onto a road that has a 55 mph speed limit. There was a blue L way down the road coming up on my pretty fast. He was punching it because I could hear the whine of the supercharger. I got out onto the road just fine, and was about 1/4 mile ahead of him. The guy behind me also turned onto the road, but didn't realize that the L was coming that fast. He pulled right out in front of him and the L crashed into the back of the car. The guy really shoudn't have pulled out because the L was flying. The thing that really sucks is in Texas, if you hit someone from behind, it is your fault, no questions asked. The L probably was going over the speed limit, but that dude shouldn't have jumped out in front of him. Either way, the L is at fault. That really sucks. I wanted to stop and make sure everything was ok, but I had an exam in my class in ten mintues.

Thats true, some people just can't keep off that gas pedal. I can't believe the guy behind me jumped out there though. When I turned onto the road I punched it just to make sure the L had room. Apparently the guy behind me didn't have that common sense.

We seem to have alot of that crap in the Dallas area. Pole position around here is a pretty important thing. I bet I get cut off 10 times a fricking day. Usually by the mini van crowd. Ever since they started moving into SUV's, the roads have become hazardous.

I hope the moron that got hit learned something.....but I doubt it.

Almost every state has that law.

But it does not apply where someone moves over in front of you.

A couple of months ago I got cut off in my work parking lot. I was like"What's up with this jerk". So this guy is sitting in front of me at the light, he's first in line waiting to get off the work sight. Two cars crash in the intersection, both of them running red lights, one turns left in front of another car, again both running red lights. Then they both crash into the guy that cut me off.

Got out to see if everyone was okay and this guy says to me. "I quess I did you a favor, otherwise this would have been you." I
just shock my head and left. What a jerk.

We have the same law here. Very sad to hear that about the truck.

Silver 2000,

Failure to Stop and Render Aid (Sec 550.021 (Felony) and 550.022 (Misdemeanor) of the Texas Penal Code) is a law aimed at "The operator of a vehicle involved in an accident where injury or death of a person has occurred....". It is used against an actor in a crime like a hit and run, not a passer-by.

There IS a marine law that makes it illegal for someone in a boat to refuse to render assistance to another boater in distress.

Also many people are afraid to get involved because they think they might get sued if they do something wrong while trying to help, but there is a good Samaritan law in Texas that protects you from lawsuits.
