Boost Actuator Noise

Just got the truck running again, and now the boost actuator is making a screeching noise at idle. Is their a fix for this problem, or do I need a new actuator?

Never heard of that before...

Could it be a vacuum leak whistle?

It doesn't sound like a vaccume leak. But, I'll double check to make sure. I may not be describing the noise right, when I say screeching. Maybe it is more of a rumble. Sorry, I'm not good at noises.

The sound goes away when I pull the pink vaccume line.

Are you sure its comming from the actuator or are you saying this because when u unplug it it goes away?If its just because it goes away then maybe its your supercharger, because the boost actuator will affect the load on the rotor packs.Good luck my friend.

The noise only occurs under vaccume, when the actuator's arm is up. As soon as it closes under boost, the sound goes away.

I hope it's not a supercharger problem. The truck was just down for over a month with a seized supercharger. I just installed a freshly ported blower Saturday.

I ran a search and found someone that had a similar problem, the dealer replaced the actuator, and the truck was fine. I just wondered if anyone had this problem and fixed it, without replacing the actuator.

Try disconecting the supercharger belt and spinning the supercharger pulle by hand to see if you feel any binding.I ported my charger myself and when i put it on i had a similar problem.W hen i unpluged the actuator it went away.It wound up beieng a small bur i left from doing the port. After about 100 miles it went away.Thank god!

chims', the supercharger spins freely without the belt. I checked that several times.

Jason, I'll take you up on that offer. Just tell me where to send the money. If it's not the actuator causing the problem, I'll ship it back.

Thanks.
