making L faster with KB & hollow cats?

Mods below, thinking of switching from 4lb lower to 6lb lower, hollowing out high flow cats, changing injectors for stock to 55LB. I have heard that hollowing out my high flow cats would drop my 14# boost to 12, but the 6lb would bring it up to 14lb again, but signifigantly inproving my volumetic efficency and with the 55lb getting more fuel in and out of the engine. ao my hp /tq would increase. Was dissapointed in my 444.1hp/533.1tq Or I could sell by magnaflow high flow cats(six months old) and get an offroad x-pipe. Trying to get around 470hp/560tq on new 04 ford longblock with 8,000 miles. Or could always go with a 3.0 upper and leave the 4lb lower.

Any opinions?

This is what I would do

go with a 3 inch upper, and a set of 50LB injectors. Don't mess with the cats as it will get real loud and you will lose a little low end power. The 50's are a better all around injector, they are easier to tune and idle better.

Thanks for replying Don. When I am bored on here I just go back and read as many posts as I can from the past. You seem to be one of the guru's around here with exellent advice on every subject. Especialy since you have first hand knowledge about just about everything. I would love to see your L in person, I know it must be a piece of work!. Maybe next time I visit my sis in Wayland I'll try to look you up. And in the Spring, I am definitely going to travel to the meets all over the East coast.
If I did the 4lb and the 3.0 top what boost am I looking at? And should I redyno to car for a tune? I am not sure if I can just get the Predator reprogramed. I still want to stay a little safe, don't plan on a built lower for about 4 months.

If I were to guess I would say 2 or so lbs of boost

As for retuning the preditor, it all depends on how it was tuned to begin with. I know with my SCT tuning it adjusts for extra boost.

One thing I will tell you the 3.0 upper pulley with the 4# lower will make the supercharger spool up faster than a 6# lower and your 3.2 upper

I agree, I did a cold dyno, with full longtube headers single cats and mac cat back, then did it again running nothing but headers, no gain to speak of 2hp is not worth all that! I could lose 10 lbs and have a better et gain LOL

Thanks for the info. I guess just about everyone is always trying to figure how to get more power out of what they have.
