Update on Whipple supercharger

I called whipple today, and the girl who answered the phone told me it would be 6 months before the 2.3l blower would be released and a few months after that for the 3.3. I dont know why they put "coming in November 2004" on their Webpage unless they just want to **** us off.

If they tell us it won't be out until 2006, we will just lose interest. If they tell us 2 weeks, or two months, for the next 2 years, they keep us on the hook. Pissed off; but, on the hook.

Need a consistent story as well. Guy by the nme of Chris told me yesterday the 2.3 would be available around the first of the year.

At this rate, I may have to do the KB which is not what I want.

I'll let you know what the owner says; just e-mailed him, may be Monday before he gets back to me. Least I can do since I'm the one who started this by spreading the word from Dustin Whipple!

I understand that. I just figure he's still part of the ownership.

All I know is Whipple, Lysholm, and Works all seem to
be in some joint venture here, and I surly hope this DOES NOT
turn into the Works 140 everyone IS STILL waiting for.

Works was a seperate entity buying Lyscholm compressors and making his own kit. Has nothing to do with Whipple or its products.

They will be available from Whipple and we are going to make our own kit too. (different type of intake in the stock location)

Tim I was thinking the same thing

I was thinking of the 2300R upper intake blower and making my own upper plenum

Is this what you are planning on doing??
If so I might be interested

I talked to a tech guy there and was told that the 2.3 would be on a red L @Sema in Vegas this week.

and i asked about the 3.3 and he told me that it was unlikely that they were going to end up making it.

I don't know why you guys are getting all hotted up over the 3.3L anyway. I really don't think you will be able to drive it without completely re-inventing the drive system....starting at the crankshaft.

That big blower also isn't going to be very streetable. It will want to be run at higher boosts, and you can't really do that on the street. It will end up being more of a race blower.

Sema starts on tuesday. I'm sure the entire whipple crew has already left to go to vegas for the event so dustin will prob not respond until the following week Jody
