where to measure pinion angle?

where to measure pinion angle?

I have a digital angle finder. Where on the rear end do i need to put it to measure the pinion angle.m I put it on the bolts on the rear cover and it came out to .6 degrees negtive angle. I have belltech 2" shackles.
