60' help

Ive been trying to get my 60' down all year and all I can manage is 1.8s. Ive used 26" ETs and 28" hoosiers with the same results.
I dyno at 450/537 and have JLP bars and drag shocks. It hooks like a **** and im not getting much spin at all. What do you guys think? Over the weekend I ran a 12.38@110 with a 1.83 60'
Man if I could get my 60s down to where I should be !!
Thanks Guys

Are you running at Great Lakes Dragaway? If so this could be your problem. I barely chirp my tires on the street and fully aired up. On that track, I spin into second sometimes with my tires aired down.

Im still on the stock converter . I have tried flashing and launching at different RPMs. My truck has 40k very hard miles on it so maybe its about time I upgrade the Tranny and put in a converter.
Back when I first starting modding I could pull 1.8 60s with no tractionbar and BGF drag radials .

racetested ,No this was at Rock Falls race way and Cedar Falls Iowa .
Thanks Jason

heat those damn tires up but good!! shallow stage, put the tach at about 800-900 rpm and when the lights come down smash it!! you outta cut some good 60 ft's then. let me know how that works out for ya.

p.s. make sure you are in the groove (meaning lined right up in the middle of your lane right in the tire marks). GOOD LUCK!!!

Not to be a *****, but I've been doing well goin low 1.8's to 1.79 on f1's. I've found that if you just roll into it HARD, but don't punch it, that that works best for me. Never run a slick so I dunno but I think you need to just heat em up and give em hell

Actually it just dawned on me. I always deep stage. At both of the strips that I go to they don't stage the lights until after you deep stage.

So what would the difference be in 60' times between deep staging and not? Seems like the Shallow staging it would make for a much lower 60' time because of the extra distance.

I heat them up good !And Ive tried just like you say and still 1.8s
This is even on a track in Iowa that is famous for good traction .They call it the house of hook. Ive watched videos and the weight is transfering good . It has to be something else.

Had the same issue for the longest time. Dyno'd just fine for my mods etc., but 60 ft never got any better than 1.85. Tried changing all kinds of stuff. Finally had a tranny issue and at that time found the torque converter(stock) to be bad. Replaced with a higher stall and my first time out at a not so good prepped track I did a 1.75.

Shallow staging allows you to get moving before you cross the beams to turn on the clock. Even if it is just a little. Every little bit helps.
