Eaton identification

All,

If I was to tell a newer Lightning eaton from a older model, what would I be looking for?

The one i'm scoping out now has the Ford oval and SVT on the snout, and has a number of 101540F on the unit. Is this the new or the older unit?

what year is your truck?
you can look at the bolt pattern on the both of them to see if it will fit

With SVT on the snout, it is probably the late unit.

The one I'm buying is for the purpose of porting, but I don't have a good picture of the unit, just a description.

Make sure to ask if the coating on the rotors is OK. It comes off if the rotors hit the top of the case. Both the early and late blowers can have the hole pattern re-drilled to make 'em fit either application.
