Unhappy I need help baaaadddddd!!!!

Somthing is wrong. It's in the trans. I dunno what.

I just put a FTVB in a little more than a week ago.

Symptoms:

Truck does not want to shift from 1-2 under WOT

When truck does shift from 1-2 under WOT the rpm's slowly drop and power is lost while rpm's SLOWLY drop (I'm talking still above 4k...) It feels like the clutches r slipping.

People describe the FTVB as loud bark/burn the 1/2 shift. Mine did that once in 35 degree air. No other times...

HELP!!!

if so maybe you lost one of hte check *****
either that or you possably did not tq it down correctly and there is a gap that fluid is sneeking by

Look man, I don't know what your problem is(trucks problem) but I can almost guarantee you that smelling your dipstick isn't going to tell you what the problem is. Sounds like something got jacked-up when you installed the FTVB. Try to contact Greg E.

Smelling tranny fluid has long been a crude, but effective, way to see if a tranny has been burned up through clutch slipage. It goes like this: If you smell the fluid and it smells like burnt phenolic, the tranny is toast. In you case, it sounds to me like something when wrong in the installation. Since it has only been a week or so, it is unlikely that you've burned up the tranny. But since you've been into the valve body section and the problem sarted after you went into the valve body section and there are check ball and the like involved, the problem is either an install problem or a defective FTVB. That's why the suggestion to consult the manufacturer of same.

FYI: I do not have one....Some people swear by them, others swear at them.
