PLEASE help with tire/wheel combo...

Hello, I am tring to get some Weld Prostars for a 99 Lightning. I was wondering if I should go with some 15x10s or 15x12s? What kind of back spacing do I need and What is the tallest and widest tire I can fit? Thanks.:santa:

I'll take this chance to say welcome to the forum and offer a polite answer: 15 inch wheel and tire combos are not a good choice on the Lightnings because the tall sidewall would really hurt the cornering performance. But if you still want to do it, for what ever reason, first check to see if 15's will clear the calipers. I doubt that they will. If they will you might get by with the 10's, but 12's are unlikely. The problem is the section width, which is the width through the fattest part of the tire - not the tread width. The taller the sidewall, the more balloon like it is. But if you think they'll fit, you might post the question on one of the standard 150 forums where 15's might be actually be used.

Unless you want to grind down your brake calipers, get some 16" wheels/tires. You will have to grind with the 15's.
