I'm not going to power them with an amp. Does anyone know a good deal on a set of speakers that would replace the stock speakers?

I took out the stock speakers and put in Pioneer 4 ways in the door. (5x8's)
The stock set that comes with the truck are *****....

I put in aftermarket everything .....what a huge difference 600 watts makes.

How much if you don't mind me asking? What did you put in the rear?

I ditched my rear speakers and replaced my door speakers with Focal Utopia 165W components. Before them I had Memphis 6x9s in the door with some Fultron pos 5x8 in the rear for filler. Ditch the rear speakers and spend the money up front, you wont regret that decision.

I have the pioneer 4 ways in my mustang. they are great!!! I think I paid $120 for mine about 1.5 years ago. It's a night and day difference!!!! I run 90W max through those... 45-50w rms.

I always go Alpine for all my hardware, and Pioneer for speakers, and JL for my Sub.

So you don't miss any sound from the rear?

Where do you personally shop to get the best price?

The rear sound is pretty much absorbed by the seatbacks. Definitely not worth the effort or cash. There is a world of difference when you replace the fronts. I used infinity's here; I really like the rotating tweeter.

Before tearing out the old head unit, I tried it out with the new speakers and was impressed but not impressed enough to keep the stock unit.

I got my speakers at best buy for $99 ....the CD is Sony Xplod and kicks a$$...the amp and the sub I got from crutchfields..

And yeah...don't worry about the back speakers....I had the guy that installed the CD player unhook them....can't hear them anyway.

The speakers I got from a friend who owns a stereo shop. At the time they were going for $150ish. I've seen um now for as low as $100. I'd really like to get some 5 ways now... I'm a wh0re for speakers.

My amps and stuff were Ebay.
My JL stealth box I bought from my friend like 4 or 5 years ago. Almost $400... eek

what size speakers are in the L? I have a mustang, but I'm looking at getting a L in the next 2-3 months. I'd like to transfer as much as I can to the L. Obviously the Stealth Box won't go. But I have 2 alpine amps (sub and speakers) that I would like to carry over. I'll just find a sub to put in it.
