May sell my '04 DSG L

Yes, I know I just bought it, and I've put a little $$ into it. However, with two growing kids I am considering getting me something with 4-seats. The L is a business vehicle, but my dad is getting ready to get rid of his beater '91 S-10 truck (and yes, its a POS). Thing is, when I have to haul something really nasty(some renters suck!), I use his S-10 anyway. It's basically free if I want to take it off his hands.

So I'm considering selling the L and getting an '03-04 Cobra. I know I'm going to take a beating on the L, but since they're not making any more, maybe I won't do horribly. 4600 miles, $27k? Is this a fair price?

2lb pulley, SCT tune, Roush suspension, Magnaflow cat-back, REM CAI.

Not really. A few months back, new (leftover) 04's were going for about $27k...NEW.

Your mods might get you an extra $800 on the truck, but you'll make more parting it out. With the mods on I'd say try about $25k. Unfortunately, these trucks aren't exactly an investment.

03/04 Cobra is a sweet car, though personally I would hold off until next year for one since when the 06 Cobra's hit the market, the bottom will fall out on the 03/04 prices.

Recently and even currently, people have been buying brand new 04's for $25,500-$26,500 or so with an x-plan and rebates. That doesn't help the resale value, especially on a used 04.

Thanks for the input, guys.

I realize I'll take a bite on this...that would happen with any new vehicle that you sell so soon. Never bought it as an "investment". I wouldn't buy any car as an investment, no matter what it is. Better money to be made elsewhere.

I would probably hope for a trade or wholesale at $26k, but might not even be able to get that.

I have had a Gen 2 L for 5+ years now. Wonderful truck. But I'm not sure I need two reg. cab trucks. It doesn't hurt me in the least to keep it, though. Just gives me more of an excuse to mod it. My '99 ran like clockwork with the same mods as I have on this one, so I wasn't going to go crazy with the '04 originally.

ShockTherapy...what wheels are those? HRE? They look awesome.

The $4,000 incentives are over, expect $2,000.
