I have the option to buy a slightly used 4r100 out of a 4x2 Excursion. is there anything different that owuld prevent me from using your monster in a box kit to build a tranny for my lightning?

I found it for 200 bucks so if i have to spend a little more to change a couple thing it's probably still a good deal for me. Thanks in advance!

 

Hell for 200 I would buy it anyway!!!! I am sure u could use it or just sell it again!!!

 

It will work, no problem, but it may be an older model that I could update, if you want to look at the actual valve body, the model should be marked 2C on it, if it has another model number, I'll be happy to swap it for one of the newer ones.

Oh man, I read that post wrong. Sorry.

You'll want to chage it over to a 3 plate OD clutch and change the planets in it, they're aluminum and you need the steel ones with 6 pinions instead of 3. While you're doing all this, you might as well rebuild the box, there are a lot of upgrades you can do while you have it down. Drop me an e-mail and I'll give you the complete list of what all needs to be upgraded and what is easy to do, or the whole MIAB kit.
