After seeing Rob's post with the SFPHQ idlers and upper pulley, I've decided to use them when I do the chip and pulley. Two questions though. How are they as far as tuning? Does anyone here run one of their Superchips custom tunes and if so, are you happy with it? Secondly, I plan on keeping my stock lower and just go with a smaller upper pulley with the idlers. I don't want to add more boost than a 4lb lower would so is this possible to do with an upper pulley or do all upper pullies add more than 4psi? Basically, I don't know much about upper pulley sizes or their power increases so any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Btw....... a 2lb upper is the smallest(diameter) pulley avaiable for the Eaton

The amount of machined down work Terry talks about, is prob a
5-10 minute job with a Dremel, AND NOT HARD TO DO.
As for his Tunes, lets just say, LOTS OF PEOPLE RUN THEM
and don't even know it. It's a VERY POPULAR Super Chip
File used by THOUSANDS of us.

Rob I encourage you to look at past posts of mine as well as past replies to other posts. You'll see that I am in no way ever an A-hole to anyone on these boards. However, Gator has a serious attitude problem and I continue to be subject to his sarcastic comments. It is just as much my fault to have even responded to his childish ways. Gator, I promise that from now on, any reply from you to a post that I've made will be disregarded. You seem to be in love with the fact that you've been on this forum for quite some time and I think that makes you feel as if you actually had some knowledge to bring to the table. There are many other members on this forum who have been here as long as if not longer than you and they are what make this forum as great as it is. They provide valuable knowledge from personal and professional experience. And if they happen to disagree with something you say, they do so with an open mind and without criticism. You however are one of those bad eggs that just seems to have been hangin around while providing nothing but your sarcastic "I'm Fast Gator and I know it all" opinions. As fas as SFPHQ tunes on Superchips, I had purchased a chip from Terry & it came from JDM, JDM also did the re-burn after some Mods. I don't know if Terry now has the equipment to re-burn Superchips. You might call him and talk to him as he may now have the equipment need to do the programming.
I think the fact that A LOT of us were not aware of is
SUPER CHIP was doing the tuning, Diablo was doing the
Tuning, Auto Logic I believe WAS THE ONLY one allowing
the Tuner to actual do it. Terry and or other Vendors may
sometimes have to use a middle man to get those tunes,
whoever that may be.
The point is, there are only so many Lightning tunes,
EVERYONE has the same Mods, "Filter-Chip-N- Pulley"
(if we get into KB's + Mag's, I would ONLY do a Dyno Tune)
Bottom line is, it's the Vendor that TELLS THEM what they
want, it's the expertise of the individual to KNOW what
THAT Lighting want's DIFFERANT than the last one.
There are only a hand full that I would trust with those
decisions on my Motor, Johnny, Jim, Sal, Terry, RWTD, USA,
and a couple more are most of them. Up to weeks or months
ago, NONE were actually doing the tune.
The way it worked was simple, YES THEY CREATE A CUSTOM
TUNE, "but" they would have to go to Mother Company to
have that made and sent back to them via computer,
they would then upload that into your chip. As the years go
by you learn which combo's work best in which area's with what
gas and octane and at what elevation. SO sure when you went
for a tune, the tuner had a million files to give you, and even the
little tweaks that seperate you from the last L using that tune.
Again it's the years of tuning that allow the Tuners to make
these decisions, and the've asked for most of the changes before.
Now with the SCT and Black Diablo Chips, that has all changed,
(also the SCT Tuner and Predator I believe)
Now the tuner can make ANY AND ALL changes right there on
the spot and NOT have to go to Mother Company first.
They were doing the tuning all along, but they had to tell
someone else what they wanted. Terry has tuned enough
L's over the years to know what HE WANTS in his Customers
Lightning. So weather he's burning it himself or not, thats
not at all the issue (non of the tuners were), the issue is
KNOWING WHAT YOU WANT for that Customers Lightning,
and having YOUR program made.
Don't ever think because you have a file # on your chip,
it's the same as your Buddies because he has the same
File #, -->WRONG<--
I answered questions, and stood and watched Johnny CREATE
my new tunes Saturday at his Computer. We also had the information on my original Tunes Johnny burned back in early
03 for me, AND WHAT CUSTOM CHANGES WERE MADE to my
file #. SO even though someone else out there may have my old
File #, YOU DO NOT have my tune.
For instance, is your Rev Limiter set on 7500 RPM
Is your Nitrous Program 19 degrees ?
Is your A/F 10. nothing ?

(Of course that all changed Saturday with the new CUSTOM
tune anyway, that chip will go in this week some time)

to get in the middle of it. I just read that link and I see you too disagree on the pulley's, no biggy, I happened to run faster
with 4lbs instead of 6 EVERYTIME I compared the both,
(same day at the same track), however I have also watched
Gator run 11 after 11 with all boost. Another words, it's all
about your Mods and set up. Gator has Aftermarket Heat Exchangers, Electric Fans, even a electric fan on the oversize
heat exchanger (twin fans I think) so HE has done something about that heat problem. Yet to a guy like me
racing in the summer heat on a hot truck with NO cooling mods,
or proper cool down, the extra pulley CAN work against you.
So in this case, your both right, and your both wrong.
But if you say he's a worthless member, expect him to attack
you, if you state a opinion, and he can prove diff, expect him
to say differant, IT'S HOW YOU TWO ARE SAYING IT TO EACH
OTHER where the problem lie's.
MANY people DO NOT like me, but I still help them EVERY
chance I get. I also NEVER attack people unless they attack me,
and most of the time, I'll still be nice and start fresh tommorrow.

I reread that thread and I don't see him saying anything bad about you. What I do see is you making comparisons without talking about what you did in the middle. Its WAS an apples to apples comparsion. The ported Heaton has not helped my truck. In the heat Iam right where I was before, go figure
