Cool Sway Bar Alignment Fixed

After installing the 3" drop JLP shackles, the sway bar alignment looked like this:

Today, my buddy and I spent a few minutes drilling some holes and relocating the frame mounts. Here's the results:

Just wanted to post that it was really easy to do (because we had a lift and air tools) and that it looks fairly close to the original alignment before the truck was dropped.

For anyone that is interested, the spacing between the centers of the factory hole and the hole we drilled is 2 1/4".

In addition your efforts...... there is more to be had than just relocating the mounting points!

What a feller should do is to shorten the end links. This gets the sway bar back to it's "design intent" position and it also reduces the effective lever length of the end links. When I took 2" out of mine and welded them back together, I noticed that it was tighter than when orginal.

It's also easy with an electric drill and jackstands.

I think to be accurate that the bar is at its least effective when it is parallel. Raising it up would tend to shorten the arm length, which would shorten the leverage on the center section, the twisting of which is what causes the bar to resist sway.

At the other extreme, if the bar arms were pointing straight up or down, it would seem that the bar would be at max stiffness (because almost no twisting force would be asserted on it).

I may be wrong on this, but that is the way that I have it figured.
