It is not unusual for shocks to leak a very small amount of oil from the shaft seal. The seal does a good job of wiping the shaft, but can't get every bit of oil off it - which has the advantage of giving the seal some lubrication as it moves, so it does not squeak. The bad news is that the oil film on the shaft also collects dirt, which ultimately wears the seal. If the oil leak is a film of oil around the end of the shock with the shaft, clean off both shocks with something like brake cleaner so you can compare them and see how long it takes to re-appear. A day or two may be a problem, two weeks is probably not. Unless you've lowered the truck to where the shock is bottoming on the shock, rather than a bump stop on the frame, there should be no difference in the life span of the shock. Shocks, unlike springs, don't care where they are in their range of travel as long as they don't hit the ends at either compression or extension.
