Ran A SRT-10

Well I went to the track tonight to make a few passes and see if I can better my previous times (truck is stock). Turns out that they were running 1/8th mile only due to wind at the topend of the track. My best pass was
60'-2.027
1/8-8.84
mph-80.03
After that I figured I'd make one more pass and head home when I saw a red Ram SRT pull into the staging lanes so I quickly followed....here's the timeslip

ME SRT
60'-2.058 2.233
1/8-8.880 9.032
mph-79.89 81.26

I was VERY happy that I beat it and was a great way to finish the night. BUT I now have a problem...after I finished my burnout I heard a loud clunk in the rear...I thought maybe I had flat spotted the tire or something and wanted to run the guy anyways so I did....On the way home I heard a consistent ticking noise coming from what seems to be the left rear tire...kinda sounds like a nail is in it or something but I checked thoroughly and saw nothing.....any ideas on what I broke?

Awesome kill!

It's nice to see a stock vs stock comparison (besides a magazines).

It might be a rock or something. does it only happen once per rotation? Drive next to a wall with your window down.

Nice Kill

Yea I thought it may have been a rock or something but figured it would've flown out during the 30minute drive home on the interstate.

nice win.
but his (srt)mph and if had same 60' indicate he has the faster truck...which makes for a fun win for the L.
not good 60' by either truck.

At bonneville, maybe but not at the track

no offense, but your benchracing. If you miss the light... you lose. If you spin your tires... you might lose.. And this is the real point... IF YOU CROSS THE FINISH LAST... YOU LOSE.

Btw, the srt-10 should win based on HP alone, but again that's bitchracing. Fastest doesn't always win.

It may have been different if it were a 1/4 mile run, but at 1.37MPH difference it's hard to make up over 2 truck lengths in the 1/8th. It would have been damn close if he could launch his truck. Either way... Awesome win! It's a great feeling.

As RustySocket noted, bithracing means nothing. The last time I went against somebody that told me how fast he was, he lost... Badly. Now he tells everybody he knows how fast the L's are!

Believe it or not fellows, spinning tires will increase your MPH . So his MPH tells me exactly why his 60 was bad......he spun. But it sure doesn't mean his truck is faster.

Here is a time slip from the first pass I made in my Lightning. I am in the right lane. I was on my F1's and didn't have a clue when it came to launching one of these trucks. I was sideways down the track through the 330 line. I finally let off the gas enough to get hooked up.

Check out the MPH.....that night I managed to start getting some 12.8x's out of her.

Rocks
I'd like to know what law of physics explains the above? MPH is generally fairly consistant regardless of your 60 ft, and is more of an indication of your HP than anything else.

Generally, when you spin your tires, your engine comes up into peak power faster, and you will end up with a faster MPH, but a lower ET. This really does happen.
