Sad day indeed, No more lightning...

Until Spring.

Well today was the day, took the truck out one last time, washed it, took it for a little drive, went to Autozone and bought fuel stabilizer and put it away until the salt is washed from the roads by the spring rain.

I know I probably could have waited a few more weeks, but I've been so busy this semester at school and work I really haven't driven it much in the last 2 months. I did take it to the track a few weeks ago, but parked it when I got home in the afternoon and drove the Grand Cherokee the rest of the day.

I looked at the odometer and figured out I put about 4,600 miles on it this year. (trip from MI. to NY)
It's getting harder and harder to justify the truck payment (almost paid off) and insurance costs, when you never drive it.

I have to call tomorrow and put take the full coverage off and put storage insurance on it.

I don't have any mods planned for this winter, unless I somehow become wealthy. I'm pretty much modded out. Meaning adding any more mods, or an aggressive tune on a stock block is in my opinion "over the edge".

Still have to pull out the jack stands and pull off the wheel, add steel wool to the exhaust and intake openings and some last minute stuff (change the air freshener, etc...)

See ya in the spring!

Hmm... need to update those pics... I know have a cervani spoiler and tail lights.. and....

I put the stands under the suspension, so the shock shafts won't dry out. (I hate when that happens) If the shaft dries out, it can become pitted. once that shock is used again it will destroy the seal in the shock. I also have jack stands under the frame, but they are back-up. (8 total)

Pull the tires off, or in the spring you'll have flat spots. the F1's are soft rubber.

The steel wool keeps out critters who think my cat back or JLP Ram air intake would make a nice home for the winter.

Unoid, I hope you have good tread and trackson bars on that truck, becuase if your winter is anything like ours, you'll need it.

I had a 2wd ranger one winter. NEVER AGAIN. either AWD or 4wd for now on.

I dont think traction bars would help in this case.

Oh... you haven't heard about trackson bars? They are new but making big big waves in the off-road community. They are the next best thing for 4wd. Just need to figure out a way to make it work on a 2wd lightning.
They aren't traction bars as you know it.....,
they are trackson bars.

designed by a off-road company in North Dakota for Off Roaders. Basically it will automatically transfer almost all of the weight of the vehicle to tire that has traction. Crazy set-up!

tackson bars are the msot important thing to lightnings.

Dr trackson saw this benefit and siezed the oppertunity to brand a new style of trackson bars called trackson bars (C).

He proclaimed they're keep you from spinning rubber at all, including with 3" of snow under you.

right menace?

I know, but I won't have any free time until after Nov 18th. (I have a national competition for Moot Court (law school crap)).

and by then it'll be too cold.

I really wanted to go to the track and put on a set of 26" tires to see what my 60' would be.
with my current 28" I can pull a 1.8 60', I figure with a shorter tire I should be able to go a little lower (If I can maintain traction) Oh sorry trackson.
