Don,
Remeber me? I work for Bedford, MA Police and met you while I was on a detail on Rt4 a few months ago.
It makes no difference if that guy has liability only. The fact that he doesnt have collision insurance only means that HE will not get money from his insurance for repairs if the accident is his fault. You will get the same compensation for damages regardless if he has full coverage or not. Sorry to hear about the accident.......remember, could have been much worse. Good luck with everything!! ~John

Don...welcome to the club! As you know, I know your pain first hand. Thats the bummer of it being a daily driver. Just don't settle for anything other than PERFECT on the repairs. You'll be back and running in no time.

JMC...I think I've seen your truck around...sweet ride man!

Hey Don, I feel for you, but he could have smashed into your door and you or him could have ended up in the hospital or worse, and all of a sudden the L is not important anymore only you. Things on this earth can be replaced but there's only one Don and that's most important. Fortunately that did not happen and it's nothing a good body shop can't make as good as new so cheer up and thank God you're ok. Sometimes we're so into our trucks we loose perspective on life and priorities.

I too am sorry to hear about the damage to your truck. Just this past Thursday I side swiped someone caught in my blind side and screwed up my bumper so I know what it feels like. Like others have said though, it's only cosmetic and I guess if we drive them on the road, stuff like this will eventually happen to some of us. Good luck on getting it back to the show quality it is.

Don

Comp and Collision cover HIS CAR, the Liability or Property damage part covers Bodily Injury he can do to you and The Property damage he can do to you..Just better hope he has enough property damage to cover..

EXAMPLE:

AHOLE In Explorer hits you and hurts you and your truck

His liablity limits are 100,000/300,000/100,000

The last 100,000 is how much he has to cover damage to your truck and anything or anyone else he may hit.

The first 100,000 is the amount of money he has to cover injuries to you or anyone he may cause

The 300,000 is the most the insurance company will pay toward bodily Injury in one accident

If He does 100,000 in BI to you, Jan Doe and 150,000 to a 3rd person..It goes in order of who claimed it first..So if it went in that order, the 3rd person could only get a max of 100,000 the 50,000 would be left on the table..

Here in KS the state minimum requirement is 25,000/50,000/10,000 so if that clown had that and hit you here and totalled your truck, you would get 10,000 from his and the rest on you!(underinsured/non insured motorist part of your insurance)

Hope this helps

YOur friendly board Insurance Man

Matt

I hate reading posts like this.

Are you keeping hte same paint scheme or changing it? only reason I ask is that you could do something and then "reveal" it next spring.

Don,

That really sucks, I'm glad you were not hurt.

I know how you feel, I was rear ended two weeks after I bought my '04 just sitting in stopped traffic minding my own buisness.

Keep after their insurance company and don't settle for anyone but the best you can find to do the body work.

Best of Luck

i would have buried his *** right there under his exploder
but you should be fine with his insurance, thats is what the liability does, it covers the person you hit not you
