new Whipple blowers

I like new stuff too but look back to some of the past mods. I know this isn't in the same category as the Plasma Booster or boost bypass, maybe more inline with the ported eaton. I'm not saying the blower is junk, it probably will be better than the KB, Magnum, Eaton, Works. But nobody knows anything until they are run for awhile and properly tuned. How long do they last?

The Whipple, AFAIK, will just be an off-the-shelf, fully assembled 2.3 (or 3.3) with an adapter on the bottom for the intake plenum and a custom inlet bolted on the rear. The blower itself will be the same as a zillion others. Kinda like a new kit based on an Eaton -- minimal risk from a proven core design.

I wonder about hood clearance. How much larger are the blowers and how much height does the adaptor plate add? I suppose that if it is a side draft intake then that would alleviate some height issues. But what about the clearance from the blower pulley to the hood? I never really looked to see how much clearance there actually is on the Eaton so maybe it is not an issue. Would you need a cowl hood?

Dustin Whipple told me both the 2.3 and the 3.3 model fit without hood or firewall mods.
