I think the ones without, are exhaust from vendors that make thier own tips & pipes but, use the Magnaflow mufflers. and then are to often refered to as a magnafow exhaust.

But then again it's just my thought
I agree. I have a JDM, Magnaflow(single muffler) c/b and it has BIG tips with no pipe showing in them.

There are 3 versions.

I have the original version - no internal pipe, the Magnaflow etching, and shoddy alignment of the tips.

The next run fixed the alignment. don;t recall if they kept the etching, I believe they did. I think **** was selling the 2nd itteration.

The latest is fixed alignment, longer internal pipes, no etching.

I like the first generation of them, but still need to find a muffler shop who can fix the alignment. Can the pipes after the muffler be heated and bent?

Mine has them. It also keeps the water when you wash your truck from going into the muffler. And the tips stay a little cleaner from exhaust soot.

I called and talked to one of the magnaflow techs and what MHMCGILL said is exactly what he told me. He said the heat from the exhaust was causing the tips to change color over time so they added the internal pipe to fix this problem.

I installed my Magnaflow catback exhaust tonight and when I took off the bubble wrap on the tips I noticed they had smaller pipes inside them. Just wondering if this is a new design or do I need to send it back? I called a local friend of mine who has the same exhaust on his truck on he said his does not have the smaller pipes inside the tips. None of the pics I have seen on the net show these either so I thought I would ask on here and see what everyone's thoughts where on this issue.

Thanks,
Tony
Looks like Magnaflow liked what Borla has been doing for a while now.
