Spring Rubbers

Does anyone know if any of our supporting vendors sell spring rubbers for coil springs. When I change to my foul weather rims and tires I need to limit the amount of travel of my front suspension. I have a 2inch front drop and when i put on the 31 inch tall all- terrains they rub on moderate bumbs. Any sources would be appreciated. Thanks!!! ( I did a search and only found info on lift kits)

I might have some laying around here from when i use to have a non coil over race car. WE used the same size springs that are in the L so the spring rubbers should work if you are talking about the same kind i am. The kind we use go between the coils and raise the spring rates. If i can find some laying around the shop ill give them to you but if not you can buy them here

Spring Rubbers

Thank you. I found the BSR catalog in my collection and the front spring rubbers they have are exactly what I need. I have the Eibach Pro kit lowering springs and I need to up the spring rate to allow less travel. Any suggestions on what level (soft, medium, or hard) to go with. You guys are invaluable sources of Information!!!

The soft add 12 pounds, medium 18-20, hard 28-30 Id go two full hard rubbers so it adds 60lbs depending on the number of coils you might go 3 and it be 90lbs

Is there any rule of thumb for how much the rubbers affect ride height? I might like to try some to slightly raise the front.

Spring rubbers and ride height

Tim,

I spoke with Mike at BSR this morning and they have a number of different compounds and thickness which are specific to racing and different tracks. Since you race, this may be the type you need. For my street application he suggested the MRG-1285 which is a hard compound and designed for street coils. I am going to buy 4 and see if 1 per coil or 2 per coil will limit the travel. I would think that the ride height could be effectively raised a bit with a thicker spring rubber. Good luck.

On my race rac being a coil over car we use the spring rubbers to build adjustablity into the rear suspinsion during a race. WE will use 2 rubbers in each rear spring to allow easy spring rate changes during a 4 tire pit stop. We use the threaded body on the shock to adjust ride heigh which is set at 4" at most tracks. We are gonna be teting bump stops on the front of the race car this week to prevent draging another hole in a tranny. The 175lb front springs and 2" sway bar sure do allow the front end to squat on corner entry.

Tim you can look at your question like this What ride height is your truck at with x lb springs and the height with 50-75 more spring rate?
