JLP Predator Tune??
JLP Predator Tune??
I just got my 4# lower interchangeable pulley on and removed my 2.8" upper (thought it would be too much) and called JLP for a custom pulley tune for my predator (conservative) I ordered it on Wed (29th) @4:30 EST and received a new tune @ 8:30 EST the same day. I think that is awsome work by JLP especially when they were going to Topeka the next morning. Just like to say thanks to the JLP team.
Anyway I am getting my truck dynoed this weekend with the new tune. Anyone know what sort of RWHP and RWTQ I should make?

A safe JL tune......380/480.
Take the pred and play with it untill you get that 400/500 mark. Keep that A/F nice and safe under 12.0.
Did I mention I'm running 18* of timing
.....every truck is different!!
GOOD LUCK,
Jason

Johnny set my timing @ 16* and gave me a A/F of 11.8 flat across the board. I had him dyno tune it and set my starting parmetiers at those #s.
Now I can go into the custom tune and go + or - 10% either direction on both fuel and timing hence the reason I'm running 18* currently and not the 16* Johnny had set for my starting point.
I had it dyno tuned by him and he ran a 15* and a 17* pull on his dyno both with very safe A/F ratios of 11.8/11.9.
I was very happy with the 17* pull so we stop there and he backed the timing down to 16* ( in the middle ) and told me I could go into the tune and change as needed for weather conditions.
@ 15* I made 385/486
@ 17* I made 404/508
The first time you ever plug in your pred it make a back up file of your stock tune in case you ever want to go back to stock so its pretty hard to lose you stock tune.
If you used the tune section of you pred before ( I'm assuming you have ) You will notice when you first plug in your pred on the main display it will not have the "performance tunes" listed anymore and in its place it will say custom tune. That will johnnys tune. Simply select custom tune..then select modify custom tune...then go ahead and change what you wish...then it ask to load modify tune now....push yes and follow its instructions.
If you wish to go back to JLs tune the way he sent it to you simply go back to modify custom tune and set all the parimeters back to -0-.
