You need these, they're louder than stock and real good at highway speeds, no resonance whatsoever.

How "loud" an exhaust is, and the resonance inside a cab, is so subjective. Kind of like why one guy digs blondes and another redheads. My '02 L is my daily driver. I dont want cops hunting me down and harassing me. I dont want a headache driving 100 miles out to St George Island for the weekend. But, with the L's Ive heard with exhaust, the Borla was a bit too quiet for me to change from the stockers. Do they sound better than stock ? Absolutely - no doubt. But when I heard the Magnaflow, I was sold. Resonance inside the cab, in my opinion, isnt bad. It burbles doing 70+ on the highway, just enough so that I know its there. You really wont know 100% until you take a drive in a truck that has it. Sound clips online really dont do any aftermarket system justice. If my L was a weekend only cruiser or show truck, I may have gone with hi flow (or no) cats. But for a daily driver, in my opinion, the Magnaflow catback adds just enough aggressive tone and the tips look great.

I cant help anymore than that, other to say if your close to Tallahassee, you're more than welcome to take it for a spin and listen for yourself.

Reference point - if you're a Mustang guy (like me) who digs the old school 2 chamber flowmasters, the Magnaflow catback by itself isnt going to be as loud. For that, you'd have to go with headers and no cats. But with the Magnaflow catback installed, you will definately notice it. I have a friend who has a 96 Msutang GT with automatic and we installed some 2 chamber flowmasters (new delta flow 40's) last summer, and to be honest, it didnt sound that much louder than stock. He later went with Magnaflow catback and it sounded better (and louder), which surprised us. I think a lot had to do with it being an auto-equipped Mustang, and the new "delta flows" flowmasters are much quieter than their old school brethren.

Anyway, for the price, Im sold on the Magnaflow catback's for our L's. Insisde the cab you will get some resonance going highway speeds (70+). But I like that. To me, its a nice "burble". Some folks dont like it. And another reference point, at highway (70+) speeds, you DO have a speak a little bit louder when talking to your sweetie next to you and on the cell phone. NOt shout by any means, by come up an octave or two. It sounds so good, that this past week, Ive only turned the radio on twice. Eventually that will wear off.

Oh, and I'll also say that I spent a bunch of time researching which catback Id go with this past month or so. Money wasnt really an issue. No, Im not a millionnaire yet, but lets say money wasnt an issue ($350 compared to $700 for Bassani) but the main reason I went with Magnaflow was:

1) It's a bit louder than Borla and more aggressive
2) Maybe not as loud as Bassani, but with me installing some JLP traction bars next month, I've heard of fitment issues with the way the Bassani's hang and thought I'd just go with Magnaflow. If I want louder down the road, I'll add some hi-flow cats and headers.

It came down to Magnaflow and Bassani, and because I'm installing full length traction bars, my choice was Magnaflow.

Thanks for the pics and write-up. I will be getting a catback soon(Christmas) My main reason for getting one is the polished tips. The magnaflow looks nice, and it doesn't "sound" like it will be to annoying cruising down the highway.

Yep, performance (catback only) is negligible on our L's. I did it 50% for increased sound and 50% for the looks of the tips. You cant go wrong with any of the aftermarket catback (save Ive heard of some serious rusting issues with the Mac setup), but for 300-700, its well worth it, man. And it wont void your warranty, either.
